Due to doctrinal differences, several families withdrew from their local congregation and established Peace Lutheran Church in Cole County, Missouri, in 1986.
In 1987, some land was acquired and a church facility was erected. The congregation joined the ELS in 1988.
In 2003, a new sanctuary was constructed adjacent to the existing one, with the latter being refurbished to serve as a fellowship hall and Sunday School rooms.
